“Design and Fabrication of a Stretchable Liquid-Metal Sensor Skin for Soft Robotic Gripper”

Society of Women Engineers National Undergraduate Research Poster Competition, 3rd Place

October 18-20, 2018

Minneapolis, MN

I was super excited to present my poster at the SWE National Conference, the world’s largest conference for women engineers with over 14,000 attendees. The poster was based on our paper, “Liquid-Metal Microelectronics Integration for a Sensorized Soft Robot Skin”. My poster focuses more on the sensors characterization and fabrication process, while the paper is broader and encompasses more aspects of the project.

It’s been one of my goals since my freshman year to come back as an upperclassmen as one of the 10 undergraduate research competition finalists. I attended the 2016 SWE National Conference in Philadelphia as a freshman, which was a fantastic experience and a great start to my engineering career. My roommate for the conference hotel from CMU was a finalist that year, she inspired me to try to do the same. It means a lot to me that I actually achieved this goal!
